Pros and cons of American Heritage Dictionary, Fifth Edition app for iPhone and iPad

American Heritage Dictionary, Fifth Edition app good for

This is the precisest dictionary Ive ever seen. Synonyms and Usage Notes are especially of great help to advanced learners of English.
Great dictionary. It has integration with LDOCE5 and same set of features

Some bad moments

I rely on this app and have for years. I have it on both my iPhone and iPad. Unfortunately, since iOS 9 it is broken. Tries to start but doesnt. Hope that the next update fixes it.
I bought this app expressly for the sound file and so far on an iPad Air with IOS 9 there is no way I can make it work. I want a refund!
I gave it a 4 because I have faith they will fix this app from shutting down when I hit the search tab. Please fix soon!
I normally have no problem with this, but currently it crashes immediately upon search. I am deeply disappointed that the developer so badly dropped the ball on this one. They had months to make sure this app was ready for the upgrade and they failed. To fellow current owners: A workaround is possible by using the index, for those who have the misfortune of dealing with this search crash. It takes maybe 15-30 seconds depending on how close the word is to the indexed points.
Ive been using this dictionary for years. Its a great dictionary with a lot of useful capabilities but I think its horrible that they force you to repurchase it. Now that I bought it it crashes! Useless
Search function crashes app instantly. Others have mentioned using the Index as a workaround, but that is broken as well - the app now thinks that the entire English language consists of only those words that start with "W". For an app this expensive, it should have been updated by the time iOS 8 was released. Very disappointed.
